[미국 미네소타 여행] 코모 리저널 파크 (Como Regional Park)
예전에 일산에 살 때는 가끔씩 일산 호수 공원을 찾았었다. 인공적으로 조성된 호수 주위로 깨끗하게 조성된 주변 시설물들까지 꽤 괜찮은 공원이었다. 미국에서도 주변에서 쉽게 공원들을 찾아볼 수 있다. 특히 이곳 미네소타는 호수가 많은 편이기 때문에 호수를 중심으로 공원들이 많이 조성되어 있다. 미네소타의 주도인 세인트폴 (Saint Paul)은 2022년 The Trust for Public Land의 연례 ParkScore Index에서 미국에서 두 번째로 좋은 도시공원 시스템으로 선정됐다 (미니애폴리스는 5위, 전체 1위는 워싱턴 D.C.). 집 근처에 있는 코모 리저널 파크 (Como Regional Park)는 조성된지 100년이 넘은 공원이며, 트윈 시티즈에서도 꽤 크고 사랑받는 공원 중 하나이다. 공원 면적이 약 450 에이커 (1,821,085㎡, 일산호수공원 면적 – 1,034,000㎡)이며, 산책로, 18홀 골프 코스, 야외 수영장, 야구장, 축구장, 놀이터, 피크닉 시설, 바비큐 시설, 동물원, 식물원, 레스토랑, 등 다양한 시설들이 공원 내에 마련되어 있다.
Como Park Zoo & Conservatory
Como Park Zoo & Conservatory는 코모 리저널 파크의 서쪽에 위치하고 있으며 놀이기구, 동물원, 식물원 등을 둘러볼 수 있다. 입장료는 무료이지만 입구에서 기부금을 받으며, 권장 기부 금액은 성인 $4, 어린이 $2이다. 오전 10시 – 오후 6시까지 운영된다. 펜데믹 기간 동안 운영을 중단했다가 다시 오픈했는데, 예약제로 변경됐다. 아래 사이트에서 예약을 할 수 있다.

폭풍이 지난 후 코모호수 주변 산책은 색다른 풍경을 느낄 수 있다. 잔잔한 호수에 비치는 구름들과 나무들이 평화롭다.
미네소타 여느 곳이 다 그렇듯 이곳 코모 리저널 파크도 가을에 상쾌한 바람과 함께 간편하게 산책할 수 있는 곳이다.
